galerie OPEN freut sich vom 12. Oktober bis zum 10. November 2007 die Ausstellung Stockartist plug in zu zeigen. Die Eröffnung wird am 12. Oktober 2007 stattfinden und Kunstwerke von 12 Künstlern aus acht Ländern präsentieren – die Arbeiten wurden speziell für die Ausstellung kreiert.

Stockartist - ein konzeptionell neues und interaktives Geschäftsmodell für den zeitgenössischen Kunstmarkt - ist eine Initiative des Künstlers DHAdmann. Das Projekt kombiniert charakteristische Kunstwerke, das world wide web und Institutionen, um Kunst einem größeren Publikum zu präsentieren. Ziel ist eine veränderte Wahrnehmung von Kunst und die Etablierung eines demokratischen und unkonventionellen Marktes, um Kunstwerke zu kaufen, zu verkaufen, zu versteigern und auszutauschen.

Die Internet-Plattform von Stockartist stellt eine spielerische Networking-Umgebung her – eine web 2.0 – Alternative für Kunstliebhaber. Die Mitglieder können sich in communities zusammenschließen, Informationen und Meinungen austauschen und mit artstocks handeln. Aber primär geht es um gute Investitionen.

Die bei Stockartist gehandelten Kunstwerken müssen drei spezifische Wesensmerkmale aufweisen: sie müssen erschwinglich, in bestimmter Quantität und leicht zu transportieren sein. Abgesehen davon können die so genannten „artstocks“ in jedweder Form kreiert werden: als sticker, Photos, Zeichnungen, CDs, Steine, T-Shirts etc... Die Rolle des Künstlers innerhalb dieses Projektes ist ähnlich der eines börsennotierten Unternehmens.
Die teilnehmenden Künstler sind: Angel Santiago Plata (Malerei – Spanien), Antonio Fernandez (mixed media – Spanien), Armando Angeles (Malerei – Mexiko), Iraida Lombardia (Photographie – Spanien), Joel Cardoso (mixed media – Portugal), Miguel Avila (Malerei – USA), Myritza Castillo (Video – Puerto Rico), Nicoletta Papamichael (Zeichnung – Zypern), Salome Rodriguez (mixed media – Kolumbien) und Initiator DHAdmann (mixed media – Mexiko).

Die Intention von Stockartist ist ein Paradigmenwechsel im zeitgenössischen Kunstmarkt, um Kunst von seiner ätherischen Aura zu befreien. Es stellt die Wichtigkeit der institutionellen Welt hinsichtlich der Kunst in Frage und sucht alternative Wege, um Kunst einem breiteren Publikum zugänglich zu machen.

galerie OPEN is pleased to announce the exhibition stockartist – plug-in in Berlin from October 12th until November 10th 2007. The OPENing will be held on October 12th 2007 and will display artworks of 12 artists from 8 different countries – each piece has been created especially for this show.

Stockartist is a conceptual, interactive and participative new business model for the contemporary fine art market, which was initiated by the artist DHAdmann. This projects combines characteristic artworks, the world wide web and institutions to present contemporary art to a larger audience. Its aim is to change the perception of art and to create a democratic and fun way to buy, sell, auction and interchange art pieces.

The Internet platform of Stockartist creates a networking – game environment – a web 2.0 alternative for artlovers. Its members can conform communities, provide information, publish opinions, interchange artstocks and more. But first of all they can make good investments.

The type of artwork offered in Stockartist needs to have some characteristics in order to be democratic: Affordability, quantity and transportability. Despite this these so called “artstocks” can be anything: stickers, postals, photos, drawings, cd’s, stones, cartons, t-shirts etc... The artist’s role within this project is similar to the one of a company in the StockExchange Market. Artists participating in plug in the art are: Angel Santiago Plata (paintings – Spain), Antonio Fernandez (mixed media – Spain), Armando Angeles (paintings – Mexico), Iraida Lombardia (photography – Spain), Joel Cardoso (mixed media – Portugal), Kathrin Bauer (installation – Germany), Luisa Posada (mixed media – Colombia), Miguel Avila (paintings – USA), Myritza Castillo (video – Puerto Rico), Nicoletta Papamichael (drawing – Chipre), Salome Rodriguez (mixed media – Colombia) and the initiator DHAdmann (mixed media – Mexico).

Stockartist’s intention is to establish new paradigms in the actual artmarket – separating the commoditization and ethereal parts of the arts. It is an invitation to question the importance of the institutional world in the meaning of the art and also to find alternative ways to make art available to a bigger audience.
